.NET Micro Framework on non-english Visual Studio

I recently tried to use the .NET Micro Framework v3.0 on a german Visual Studio 2008. The problem is, that the setup is designed to work with the english version only, so you will not be able to see the template plugins in a non-english version. This is, how you get it running.

First, follow the instructions in the readme.txt shown after installing the framework. It says, that you need to copy the files from

\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Micro Framework\1033

to

\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Micro Framework\

and all

\Program Files\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\1033\MicroFramework*

to

\Program Files\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\

I have copied them to

\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Micro Framework\1031

and

\Program Files\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\1031\

instead, as 1031 stands for the german language.

Afterwards you have to reinstall all plugins by calling

devenv /installvstemplates

The application can be found in

\Program Files\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE

Afterwards you should be able to see the templates after restarting your Visual Studio.

One little hint: It only works with Visual Studio 2008 Standard and better. It is not supported by the express edition.
